FLDS YFZ, a compilation and commentary by one Utah woman

Consider this a place to find the facts regarding the FLDS raid from someone who has no ax to grind.

I have no ax to grind as I'm neither LDS or any other off-shoot including FLDS. In fact, I'm Lutheran (LCMS) and my own faith precludes me from even pretending to condone many of the beliefs of any faith established by Joseph Smith or Brigham Young.

That said, I moved to SW Utah in late 2006. Because I live in the proximity of the "Harker Farm" and within the general area where several polygamists live, I have chosen to learn of their history, much as I have chosen to learn of the "Mormon history" of the area.

One other thing, I hold our Constitution near and dear. Many years ago, when I accepted my commission as a 2nd Lt in the USMC, I swore to uphold this document... and I don't recall that declaration being revoked when I was released from my military committment.

So, after reading numerous blogs over the past two months; after slogging through more bigoted comments than my stomach can stand; after watching Mainstream Media do the best hatchet job possible; after giving very careful thought; after spending hours in prayer and contemplation; I've chosen to speak out.

I am enabling comments, but doing so "under moderation". Understand, this is MY BLOG. I own the content. If you want to post comments, I expect them to be well thought out, posted without bigotry or malice, and if you make a claim... provide your proof. I have no problem deleting posts I find unacceptable to the threads. There are plenty of places you can do that.
